Over the weekend I had the pleasure to taste some homemade elderflower syrup - my all-time favorite syrup! It was so delicious, maybe even better because of the person who served it ;-) When I saw the label on the syrup bottle I immediately had a thousand ideas how to redesign it. I asked if I might design a new one - how rude I know!
I wanted the design to be traditional and noble, I wanted it to look like a rather expensive and premium syrup although it’s not offered for sale.
The ornaments on the label are hand-crafted – I decided to do draw it myself and not in Photoshop, because the label has to be one-of-a-kind…. And especially because you can see it's hand-draw, it makes it even more special and unique.
The elderflowers, the elderflowers…..I drew them purposely imprecise so you can see it clear that they are hand-drawn. Now that I’m kind of finished with the label and it’s the way I wanted it – I’m thinking about redrawing them. The whole design may look better when the pretty elderflowers are drawn hyperrealistic…hmm we’ll see.
I’ll keep you updated about the final label and how it's going to look on the bottles. Creating this was super fun – I loved it!
